I will predict the quality of movies based on their trailers and then follow up with a review once the movie is out. I will also review current movies that are already out and running in theaters. If anyone has any requests feel free to message me.
I'd like to thank the Academy for deciding to pick Seth Macfarlane to host. His opening was priceless. I'll give y'all a link to the his opening song.
sorry for the poor quality but it was so funny. Anyways it was a pretty important night for all those actors. Best Picture: Argo
Argo seems pretty good. I haven't seen it yet but the trailer seems pretty intense. The idea of making a fake film in order to save people is pretty legit. The trailer really sells this movie well, the dramatic cuts between seems make it seem very good. The music is pretty nice and makes you want to see it. The sarcastic remarks from Affleck's character also makes the movie worth seeing.
Best actor and actress went to Jennifer Lawrence for Silver Lining Playbook and Daniel Day-Lewis for Lincoln. They are both amazing actors but Jennifer Lawrence tripped when she went to get the Oscar which made the moment even more memorable.
Star Trek is a classic series so I'm going automatically assume that this is going to be a pretty good movie. So I started watching the trailer and the voice over started. First comment, the narrator is amazing at narrating. Second the music had a nice build up to the moment when the narrator says "You think you are safe, but you are not" and then the music drops and gets intense. During the narration they flash between scenes of absolute chaos and the different people on Kirk's team. After the music drops, they rapidly flash between random scenes of fighting and absolute chaos. The thing that makes me want to see the movie is the last line, " What would be willing to do for your family?"
Final Thoughts: This movie is going to be amazing. It was directed by J.J. Abraham, so it'll be well thought out. The actors are all amazing. All in all, This movie is going to be great and I will expect this movie to be a solid 9/10. Definitely worth seeing in theaters.
